Let’s talk about the movie ‘The Woman in Black (Part 1) directed by James Watkins & starring Daniel Radcliffe as the lead. The movie was a mixture of horror, thriller and mystery. It had the pace which held your breathe and was haunting even after the movie ends.

But Part 2, ‘The Woman in Black 2 Angel of death’ directed by Tom Harper starring Phoebe Fox is totally out of the track.

Even though they had a very intriguing title and nail biting trailer, the movie is neither a horror nor a mystery. There are of course, at times the so called ghost appears to scare us but director I guess have forgotten the fact that ‘horror is different from shock’. The appearance of the woman in black at each point in this movie is obvious from the way the story is narrated in the perspective of the director thus predictable. And I must say that the story and screenplay was something that weakened the making.

Direction wise the First movie was far better than the second.  There are times when we lose the track of the movie believing and expecting some thrilling and goose-bumping scenes. But the movie has no pace, just moves in a mellow mood which is quite boring I must say.

First part (The Woman in Black part 1) had so much to see. It was visually rich with unexpected turns and shows. But part 2 never reached the expectation. It is stuffed with dumb characters we don’t even care and merely one or two creepy moments just because the loud noise they put in the background!

I would say you can give it a try if you just want to kill some times because you don’t have anything else to do. But if you think you expect something better and exciting then just skip and choose some other movies. There is nothing in it. Zilch!
